My favorite thing to do is to raise awareness so people like you can put it into everyday action. It is a great way for people to jump in and connect not only with me, but with other like-minded folks from all around the world. And if someone's basically coming at you and making you think that they're so psychic that they can't shut it off, that's not their ability — that's their ego.
Tell me a little bit about what people should expect when you tour and you stop in Detroit. The opening is a little bit about energy, then I do five questions that are randomly picked from the audience. Then I read for as many people as I can, and then I end with a few more questions and an energetic exercise. When you do these kinds of events, is it mostly for people who have been following you for a while, or do you ever get folks who are brand new and are just curious?
And I didn't really explain the beginning, like my symbols and what things mean. And I was like, "what is it, your first time? And I literally was like, "Whoa, whoa, hold on, let me explain the process. I mean, I understand philosophically why you're here, but why are you here with me? And they collectively have given me the same answer, which is really the biggest gift to me — they say that they trust me, so that's why they're there.
Do you have any predictions or feelings about the Detroit or Michigan area ahead of your time here? I've had moments where I've been in places once I'm there and I get stuff that's coming, but nothing ahead of time, because I think if I did, if I did, I might not go to that area.
They don't give me anything along those lines. The biggest thing for me going to Detroit is like I have to navigate eating at all my favorite places. I've been coming there for a long time. So you know, whether it's Buddy's Pizza or Andiamo's or J. Alexander's — there's a number of places that, like I want to eat myself through the town.
Why do you think that mediums and psychics have such an enduring appeal to people? I was just having a conversation with another medium last night — we were talking about celebrities and the celebrity culture, and how a lot of celebrities that you read are completely messed up.
People like these are not people to be looking up to I understand why people will seek out psychics, but I always tell people, "if you pay attention to your own intuition, then you don't need me.

Shermer thinks Edward is encouraging self-delusion and avoiding difficult feelings.
